Architecture/Environment:
Multiple timber framed structures clad with corrugated iron sheeting. The main kitchen/dining building surrounded by small verandahs supported by plain posts. A large bakers oven with double stout chimneys is the major feature of the shearers quarters. Lowered skylights protrude from the main room roof.
History:
These shearers quarters were constructed to comply with the accommodation requirements of the Shearers Union of the time. The size and style of the quarters indicated the importance of shearing to the locality and the large numbers employed.
