Mooring Sites

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A MOORING SITE ON THE NSW SIDE?

Development consent is required from Council to apply for a mooring site in NSW. You also need to have landowners consent for the land which is adjacent to the proposed mooring site if you are not the owner. All applications are required to be made via the NSW Planning Portal which can be accessed here.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A MOORING SITE ON THE SOUTH (VICTORIAN) SIDE OF THE MURRAY RIVER?

Contact the Department of Environment and Primary Industries on 5051 4348 who will provide you with an application form to obtain public land owners consent and a checklist to follow in order to apply for a mooring site on the south side of the Murray River. Concurrence needs to be sought from Wentworth Shire Council and Mildura Rural City Council as part of the application. Note: Concurrence is only required from Mildura Rural City Council if the mooring site is in the Ranfurly Mooring Area.

Once public land owners consent is obtained and you have the relevant signatures, you will then be required to apply for a private mooring licence from Roads and Maritime Services NSW.
