The NSW Office for Regional Youth are working on an exciting project with the Department of Customer Service to help young people make sense of becoming an adult.

In their Life Skills survey, they want to find out what ‘adulting’ skills are important to you and how confident you feel about them.

The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers, they just want your opinion.

Make your voice heard by 13 September 2023.

Have your say on changes to rental laws in NSW

Do you live in, rent out or manage a rental property in NSW? The NSW Government is now seeking feedback about changes to rental laws. The changes aim to deliver on the NSW Government’s key election commitments to improve the renting experience.

Share your views on changes that would require a reason to terminate a lease, make it easier for renters to keep pets, protect renters’ personal information and privacy and make it easier to transfer rental bonds from one property to another, as well as other ways to make the system fairer.

Have your say by 5pm Friday, 11 August 2023

Visit haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/improving-nsw-rental-laws to have your say by completing a survey. You can also find out more information.

Your feedback will help improve rental laws in NSW.  The consultation pages are also available in Arabic, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Nepali, Spanish and Vietnamese to reflect the many languages used by renters in NSW.

Public Submissions open for Independent Review of Commonwealth Disaster Funding

Attention members of the community, small business owners and primary producers who have been impacted by natural disasters in Wentworth Shire (and Australia wide).

The National Emergency Management Agency of the Australian Government is encouraging the wider community to share their experiences as part of the Independent Review of Commonwealth Disaster Funding.

The review is seeking input on:

  • community experiences with funding programs, processes and support
  • their understanding of the roles of the different levels of government during a disaster;
  • and their thoughts on how the Commonwealth could support communities to reduce their disaster risk.

The review is also considering how government investment in disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response, recovery and resilience can better support both a national system and the scale of transformation needed to build resilience to the extreme disaster events Australia is projected to experience over coming decades.

To provide your feedback and input, ask questions about the public submissions, and access more information about the review, please visit the National Emergency Management Agency’s website.

Public submissions are accepted until 10pm AEST on Friday, 14 July 2023 with a final report to be provided to Government in April 2024.

● Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have called for the Voice to be representative of First Nations peoples from across Australia, be gender balanced and involve young people.
