AusFly 2025 Community Day Returns to Wentworth – Bigger and Better Than Ever

Saturday, 15 March 2025, Wentworth Aerodrome Gates Open: 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Wentworth, NSW – Hosted by the Sport Aircraft Association of Australia (SAAA) and held in partnership with Wentworth Shire Council and Sunraysia Sport Aircraft Club, AusFly’s Community Day will return to Wentworth on Saturday, 15 March 2025. Following the success of last year’s event, this year’s celebration promises to be even bigger and more exciting, bringing the thrill of aviation to the community.

As part of the broader AusFly event, Community Day is designed to welcome the public into the exciting world of aviation. It offers a rare opportunity to experience aviation up close for everyone including and beyond aviation enthusiasts and aspiring pilots.
The skies above Wentworth will once again come alive with air displays at 11 AM and 2 PM, featuring elite Australian aerobatic teams, including Screaming Diamonds, Freedom Formation, and Silver Sharks. Aviation enthusiasts will also have the rare opportunity to get up close to legendary warbirds, including the Mustang VH-BOB, T-28 Trojan, Winjeel, Stearman, and P-40 Kittyhawk, offering a unique insight into Australia’s aviation heritage.

For those looking to take to the skies, joy flights will be available throughout the day in a range of aircraft, including Tiger Moths, Cessna 172s, and Robinson R44 helicopters.
Beyond the aviation excitement, AusFly 2025 Community Day offers a variety of activities for all ages. The dedicated Kids’ Zone features free activities, including a flight simulator, face painting, and a scavenger hunt. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet pilots and aircraft owners, gaining firsthand insight into the world of aviation.

The Sport Aircraft Association of Australia (SAAA) will showcase its Future Flyers project, where teenagers from across Australia built Tori, an aircraft that has since flown nationwide. Attendees will be able to see the plane in person and take home a small memento from the event, offering a hands-on experience of key skills involved in aircraft construction. Food vendors will be available throughout the day.

SAAA President Myles Breitkreutz expressed his excitement for this year’s event, stating, “AusFly’s Community Day is all about inspiring the next generation of aviators and bringing people together to share their passion for flight. Whether you’re an experienced pilot or simply curious about aviation, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

Wentworth Shire Mayor Daniel Linklater added, “We are thrilled to welcome back the AusFly Community Day once again. This event not only showcases the incredible world of aviation but also brings our community together. It’s a fantastic opportunity to come and enjoy the truly spectacular air displays, meet the pilots, and explore everything our beautiful region has to offer. I warmly invite all residents and visitors to join us for a great day out in Wentworth Shire.”

Tickets for AusFly 2025 Community Day are now available, with family passes (two adults, three children) priced at $60, adult tickets at $25, and child tickets at $10. Children aged six and under receive free entry.
