Local Aboriginal Elders: Art Competition to Share Your Story

Wentworth Shire Council is proud to support and help promote the MBPH Transition Care Program Art Competition, inviting Aboriginal Elders across our region to share their stories of healing, journey, community, and culture through art.

This initiative is more than a competition – it’s an opportunity for Elders to have their artwork featured in resources across Mildura Base Public Hospital and throughout the State, promoting culturally inclusive care.

Who is eligible
Aboriginal Elders (18+) connected to:
• Coomealla Health Aboriginal Corporation – Elder Program
• Mallee District Aboriginal Services – Aged Care and Disability Hub
• Sunraysia Community Health Service – Cultural Walking Group

Key details
Themes: Healing, Transition, Journey, Community, Culture
Media: Painting, Drawing, Digital Design, Mixed Media (no video or sound)
Prizes: Two winners will each receive $1,500 for a non-exclusive licence to use their artwork
Deadline: Entries close Friday 24 October 2025

How to enter
Submit physical artwork to the MBPH Aboriginal Health Unit in Mildura, or email high-resolution digital entries to Cazna Winters.
