Council Waste Facility Operating Hours Update
Council wishes to advise the Ellerslie/Palinyewah community of changes to access at the Ellerslie Transfer Station. From Thursday 31 July, the site will be manned by Council staff and open from 1.00pm to 4.00pm each Thursday and Saturday. This change marks a transition from the current unmanned, open-access arrangement to a staffed facility, with fees to apply in accordance with the 2025/2026 Operational Plan, available at: www.wentworth.nsw.gov.au/waste-fees
Additionally, changes will take effect at the Dareton Transfer Station:
- Dareton Transfer Station will now close at 12.00pm each Thursday and Saturday

- Buronga Landfill:
- Open 7 Days: 8.00am – 4.45pm
- Dareton Transfer Station:
- Thursdays: 9.00am – 12.00pm
- Saturdays: 9.00am – 1.00pm
- Ellerslie Transfer Station:
- Thursdays: 1.00pm – 4.00pm
- Saturdays: 1.00pm – 4.00pm
- Pomona Tip:
- Fridays, 9.00am – 12.00pm
- Wentworth Transfer Station:
- Wednesdays: 9.00am – 1.00pm
- Fridays: 1.00pm – 4.00pm
- Sundays: 9.00am – 2.00pm
