Wentworth Cemetery
The proclamation of the Dedication of a General Cemetery at Wentworth occurred 26 August 1890.
In 1938 a section of the area set aside for the cemetery was appropriated for Lock purposes. The front fence of the cemetery and some of the graves were moved back to allow room for a road and the building of Lock 10. For those interested in the historical graves there is a Cemetery Walking Tour Map available from the Wentworth Visitor Information Centre.
Operated by the Wentworth Shire Council and located near the picturesque Murray River and opposite the historical Lock 10 weir the Wentworth cemetery has served the Wentworth shires district and surrounding communities since the late 1800’s.
The Wentworth Cemetery is located between Wilmont St and West St just 100 meters off Cadell St Wentworth.
