Revised Changes to Waste Facilities: Trial of Amended Operating Hours
Due to increased potential for fires and fatigue in extreme high temperatures, waste facilities will open and close one (1) hour earlier commencing Saturday 8 February, with a trial period until Friday 14 March 2025.
Recent trialled hot weather times (implemented Saturday 1 February) proved to be too early and inconvenient for most people, necessitating these changes for which we ask your understanding.

Most school zones are in operation between 8am-9.30am and 2.30pm-4pm around schools Monday to Friday. Slow down and look out for children crossing. Please check signs for school zone hours.

Cardiac arrest is often unexpected and affects up to 9,000 people in NSW every year.
For every minute a patient doesn’t get chest compressions, also known as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), their chances of survival fall by 7-10%.
That’s where GoodSAM comes in, an app that helps save lives by empowering the community to respond quickly when someone nearby goes into cardiac arrest.
CPR is easy and safe. You don’t need a formal qualification, and a NSW Ambulance Emergency Medical Call Taker will be on the phone to help you.
If you are willing and able to perform CPR and are 18 or older, you can sign up to receive GoodSAM alerts when someone needs help.
How GoodSAM works:
Signing up is easy. Register as a volunteer, download the app, and sign in.
Can you help to save a life? Every minute counts. Sign up to GoodSAM today.

Wentworth Shire Council is committed to being a child safe organisation, promoting participation and empowerment of children and young people.
Council has created ways for children and young people to share their ideas on what they would like their future to look like, offering drawing sheets in holiday programs to draw and share their aspirations for the future and arranging consultation sessions for school children on our Community Strategic Plan.
You can read more about the Child Safe Standards on the Office of the Children’s Guardian website.
