MANAGER WORKS

Wentworth Shire Council is seeking an experienced, dynamic and articulate leader to fulfil the role of Manager Works. This role is responsible for the delivery of Council’s capital works program. These works are varied in nature and range from parks and gardens through to roads and related civil works, as well as water and sewer. The suitable applicant will need strong skills and experience in managing people, competing priorities and managing and documenting responses to customer requests. The successful applicant will also need to have input into project design.

Due to a review of service provision across the Wentworth Shire Council we are pleased to offer multiple positions within the Health and Planning Division for motivated and talented individuals looking to build their career in Local Government.  The Division facilitates development within the Wentworth Shire and enhances the quality of the built environment by providing a prompt and efficient approvals service.


SUBDIVISION ENGINEER – PERMANENT FULL TIME POSITION (35 HOURS PER WEEK)

Council is seeking a highly motivated individual with proven experience in subdivision, development and construction to provide engineering support for the Development Approval process within the Health and Planning Division. This role provides a great opportunity to be part of a progressive team delivering a very important function within Council.

Reporting to the Director Health and Planning, you will be responsible for providing a high level of professional advice to Council’s internal and external customers, stakeholders and the community, in respect of development engineering.

The successful applicant will assess and oversee a range of development applications, with a strong emphasis on subdivision related inspections and certify compliance with regulatory functions in respect of subdivision and development construction requirements.

To be successful in this role you must have a Degree in Civil Engineering acceptable for membership to the Institute of Engineers Australia and a current Driver’s Licence.  Experience in design and rural residential development with knowledge of relevant planning legislation is essential.

COORDINATOR HEALTH AND PLANNING

The successful applicant will be an “all-rounder” with demonstrated high levels of interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, the ability to effectively plan and prioritise workloads, and be able to work independently to help achieve Divisional key performance indicators.

This position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a three month probationary period and has a commencement salary of $55,473.60 per annum plus compulsory employer superannuation.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT OFFICER

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with statutory planning correspondence, enquires, proposals and decisions, including the provision of written and verbal responses to customer enquiries and for carrying out administrative tasks. 

This position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a three month probationary period and has a commencement salary of $55,473.60 per annum plus compulsory employer superannuation.

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER – HEALTH AND PLANNING

PERMANENT PART TIME (23 HOURS PER WEEK)

The successful applicant will provide high quality administrative support on a daily basis to meet the needs of internal and external customers.

This position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a three month probationary period and has an hourly rate of $26.58 plus compulsory employer superannuation.
