School Holiday Activities at Wentworth Shire Libraries

Looking for activities these school holidays?

The NSW Far West school holidays run from Monday 28 September to Friday 9 October 2026, and Wentworth Shire Libraries has a range of free activities planned across Buronga, Dareton and Wentworth.

Children can take part in 3 Minute Challenges at all library branches throughout the holidays, build and race their own Balloon Racing Car at Midway Library on 29 September or Wentworth Library on 8 October, and enjoy a Toy Story Movie Afternoon at Wentworth Library on 2 October or Midway Library on 7 October.

Adults are invited to meet author Léonie Kelsall at Wentworth Library on Monday 28 September from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Families can also save the date for the Halloween Party at Wentworth Town Hall on Friday 30 October from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. The event includes a costume competition with prizes for best dressed and is suitable for children up to 14 years of age.

Bookings are required for some activities and events.
