Honouring Resilience: The Wentworth Flood Rally (70 Years On)

Join us for a historic weekend of tractors, treks, and tributes on the King’s Birthday Long Weekend 2026.

Wentworth Shire Council is proud to announce the official details for the Wentworth Flood Rally (70 Years On). From Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June 2026, we invite the community and visitors to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the historic 1956 Murray–Darling Flood.

This event is a tribute to the “Little Grey Fergie” (Ferguson TEA20) tractors and the incredible community spirit that saved our township.

Weekend Program Highlights:

  • Friday, 5 June: Roll in Tractor Trek. The journey begins as participants trek from Red Cliffs to Wentworth.

  • Saturday, 6 June: 70km Tractor Trek. A convoy of vintage machinery will travel through the region, marking the areas where floodwaters once threatened the district.

  • Sunday, 7 June: Australian Record Attempt & Street Parade. We are aiming to break the Australian record for the largest assembly of Ferguson TEA20 tractors! The day concludes with a street parade, historic displays, and markets at the Wharf Precinct.

Get Involved:

  • Tractor Owners: Calling all “Little Grey Fergies” and vintage vehicles (pre-1956)! Help us make history. Email tractor@wentworth.nsw.gov.au to register.

  • Stallholders: Expressions of Interest are open for food vendors and local producers. Email events@wentworth.nsw.gov.au by 1 May 2026.

  • Visitors: Explore the new Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra (FOSO) and book your accommodation early at experiencewentworth.com.au.

“The Wentworth Flood Rally is more than tractors – it is a living monument to the Wentworth community and Australian ingenuity.” – Mayor Daniel Linklater
