Wentworth Shire Council advises that Arumpo Road will re-open to all traffic from 4pm today, Friday 11 April 2025.
The road was temporarily closed from the Wamberra Road intersection through to the Euston Prungle Road intersection to allow for the final stage of bitumen sealing works (24.5km).
Council thanks the community for its patience and cooperation during the closure.
Please slow down around road works, and look after people, like Ned, who are making our roads safer.

Repairs to the Buronga Houseboat Effluent Disposal System (EDS) have now been completed following maintenance on Thursday 3 April.
Wentworth Shire Council advises that the system is once again operational and available for use.
Council thanks houseboat owners and operators for their patience during the closure and for using the Dareton EDS while works were underway.

Wentworth Shire Council is pleased to advise that the Wentworth Bridge is now fully operational following recent repairs.
Bridge lifts have resumed as per the standard schedule with a minimum of four hours’ notice:
Monday to Friday: 9.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm
Weekends & Public Holidays: 9.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm, 5.00pm .

Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend
Wentworth Shire residents are reminded to set clocks back one hour before going to bed on Saturday night. The official change occurs at 3am on Sunday 6 April 2025.
This is also a timely reminder to check and replace smoke alarm batteries where needed.
The Buronga EDS is currently undergoing maintenance.
Houseboat owners are directed to use the Dareton Effluent Disposal System until further advise from Council.
