Wentworth Shire Council is seeking a motivated individual to join our Roads team to assist in road maintenance and construction activities.
The Plant Operator/Labourer (Grader) role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a grader to perform road maintenance, construction and final trim activities. They will be directing water carts, rollers and other plant necessary on the work site to complement the grader operation.
The preferred candidate would have demonstrated experience in and the ability to operate a grader for both maintenance and construction grading, demonstrated experience in leading, organising and coordinating large work crews and the ability to read and interpret basic plans.
The preferred candidate will have good oral and written communication skills, ability to work overtime and away from home from time to time and the ability to record maintenance activities via tablet or laptop.

The position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month probation period and has a commencing salary range between $56,939.69 and $62,850.76 (dependent on skills and experience) plus 10.5% superannuation. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a fit for work assessment along with a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
