An exciting opportunity exists to join Wentworth Shire Council in the role of Procurement and Contracts Officer. This role is responsible for administering Council’s procurement and contracts function, in accordance with policies, procedures and guidelines. The successful applicant will work closely with the Director Corporate Services to deliver quality and professional support, advice and assistance.

The position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month probation period and has a commencement salary between $91,743.60 and $98,797.82 (dependent on skills and experience) plus 11% superannuation. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a fit for work assessment along with a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Key Selection Criteria
- Relevant technical or tertiary qualification in Contract Administration or related field,
- Demonstrated experience in contract and procurement management,
- Demonstrated experience in processes regarding tender development and probity auditing, or compliance assessments,
- Demonstrated experience in the review and negotiation of contractual terms,
- Highly developed communication (written and verbal), negotiation and analytical skills with the ability to effectively build trusting relationships,
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and personal judgement, prioritise work to meet deadlines and demonstrated ability to work with limited supervisions,
- Demonstrated ability to undertake duties in an ethical manner and adhere to confidentiality provisions, and
- A current drivers’ licence and a commitment to maintain.
