Wentworth Shire Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons to undertake the role of Biosecurity Officer. You will be an efficient and organized self-starter, assisting Council to carry out is duties and responsibilities under relevant legislation and acts.

The position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month probation period and has a commencement salary range between $65,832.00 and $70,893.86, depending on skills and experience, plus 11% superannuation. The successful applicant will be required to successfully undertake a fit for work assessment along with a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Key Selection Criteria – ESSENTIAL
- Current and valid drivers’ licence.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to a cohesive team environment and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively under remote supervision to manage time, plan, organise and prioritise own work to achieved desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legislation associated with the position.
- Ability to work overtime and be available for after-hours duties.
- Ability to carry out tasks requiring the application of basic numeracy, effective literacy and computer skills (specifically in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Council’s Record Management Systems.
- Excellent time management skills.
