The Wentworth District Hospital provides a 24hr on-call emergency department, acute care, residential aged care and respite care, and home and community care services to frail, aged and disabled clients.

Visiting Health Services:

Visiting health services are provided by the Far West Area Health Service and the RFDS on an outpatient basis. For appointments please phone the Wentworth District Hospital on 5027 2345.

An anonymous and confidential service offering support to persons who are having problems with alcohol. Contact with counsellors is made via Lifeline.

 

ADIS – Alcohol and Drug Information Service 1800 422 599 freecall (24 Hours)

Provides telephone counsellors 24 hours a day to talk about anything about alcohol and other drugs, whether you have a problem, don’t know how to handle a situation, simply want to ask some questions or just talk – that’s OK just get on the phone anytime. Information kits, brochures, posters and stickers are also available.

Telephone support and counselling service. Lifeline’s trained counselors are able to assist people in dealing with many family and social issues.

The Mental Health and Counselling Team services emergency medicalcare, support and counselling in the areas of sexual assault, domestic violence, PANOC (physical abuse and neglect of children), child and family psychology, alcohol and other drugs, an on-call crisis service and general mental health.

Hours: Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm. After hours for recent victims of sexual abuse contact is through the Wentworth Health Service on 5027 2345.

CAPS (Child Abuse Prevention Service) 1800 688 009 Crisis Line

Domestic violence can include emotional, sexual and physical abuse, social isolation, financial control or deprivation, by one or more members of the family against another. Many children witness violence in the home and it can seriously affect them and their future lives as well.
