Water Main Upgrade (Unfiltered), Wood Street, Gol Gol - Notice of Shutdown

24 Oct 2016 7:30 AM -

Map of affected residences

Wentworth Shire Council would like to provide an update on works proposed to upgrade the unfiltered (raw) water main for Wood Street, Gol Gol to accommodate the continuing increase in growth of Gol Gol.

The works generally include supply and installation of approximately 540 linear metres of new unfiltered water main pipe commencing at the water tower on Bligh Street and terminating on the west side of the intersection with Wood Street and Pine Road.

The tender was approved by Council on 21 September 2016 and works commenced on Monday 10 October 2016 and will continue until early December 2016. In order for the project to be completed, Council's contractor, Waters Excavation, will need to shutdown sections of the existing unfiltered water main supplying properties on sections of Wood Street, Bligh Street, Adelaide Street, Drings Way, Robert Court, Dawn Avenue and Pine Road.

At this stage the shutdown affecting Pine Road will be on Monday 24 October, subject to weather conditions and for approximately 6 hours, commencing at approximately 7.30 am.

For residents with pets, we ask for your assistance in ensuring that pets are secured whilst works are underway on your property. Council will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum but please be aware of changed traffic conditions and please observe traffic signage requirements.

Should you wish to discuss any matter raised in this letter, please contact Sarah Nickas of the Roads and Engineering Division on 03 5027 5027.
