ROAD CONSTRUCTION & INTERSECTION UPGRADES

22 Dec 2017 10:00 AM -

Sturt Highway at Gol Gol from Tuesday 9 January 2018

Wentworth Shire Council is working in partnership with Roads and Maritime Services to undertake 850 meters of road construction work on the Sturt Highway at Gol Gol, which involves road widening, new pavement construction and asphalt surfacing. The shared-pathway opposite Midway Drive will also be upgraded for improved accessibility.

Work will start on Tuesday 9 January 2018 and take about three months to complete, weather permitting.

There will be some temporary traffic changes to make sure the work zone is safe. Access to some properties may be restricted at times and will be managed by traffic control staff. Lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 kilometers/hour will be in place and may affect travel times. Keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs.

The site may also be reduced to one lane at times. Council will try to minimize duration to traffic whenever possible.

The intersection at Midway Drive may be closed for five days later during the work. In this event, a detour will be provided. Alternate access will be provided while minor realignment is carried out to the existing shared pathway on the southern side of the highway.

For more information about these works please contact Roads and Engineering Division (03) 5027 5027.
