STATEMENT OF HERITAGE SIGNIFICANCE
Architecture/Environment:
A brick dwelling with iron clad gambrel roof. A separate bullnose roof covers a wrap around verandah supported by plain timber posts. A separate brick room, connected to the main dwelling by a breezeway has a high hip roof and straight pitched verandah. It appears to be an older structure and features a large external chimney.
History:
Wangamma was taken up by the Scadding Family late last century and their name is given to the nearby bridge and road. The homestead is now used as a ‘weekender’ holiday cottage. The legendary recluse ‘Possum’ is buried on the property.
