STATEMENT OF HERITAGE SIGNIFICANCE
Architecture/Environment:
This billabong of the Darling river is surrounded by large, majestic River Red Gums.
History:
Sturts Billabong is named so after the explorer Charles Sturt, who rested at this place whilst undertaking his first journey up the Darling River from its confluence with the Murray.
