STATEMENT OF HERITAGE SIGNIFICANCE
Architecture/Environment:
A single storey cement rendered cottage in the Californian Bungalow style. The long narrow verandah is supported by seven tapered cement columns each with single block mounts. The iron roof has multiple gables. The broad centre gable is adorned with timber fretwork. Two large windows with side panels are located at the front of the dwelling. The windows have timber casements and decorative lead light glass panels. The bungalow style, construction materials and decorative facade are unique features of a dwelling within an irrigation area which is characterised by the timber vernacular cottages.
History:
The dwelling provided the residence for the Bellevue Grove which was converted to a caravan park by L Metcalf after damage sustained during the 1956 flood.
