Margaret Thomson The affairs of the Shire of Wentworth are managed by 9 people elected from the community who act in a voluntary capacity. The Council acts as a community board, establishing policies and making decisions within the rules of the Local Government Act on a wide range of issues affecting the community. Council meetings are open to the public and press. The Wentworth Shire Council meets in the Council Chambers at Short Street, Wentworth at 2.00pm on the third Wednesday of each month.
