About Wentworth Arts

Wentworth Arts is a small community group dedicated to fostering arts in the Wentworth Shire. Formed nearly a decade ago, the group has consistently strived to encourage art events and artists.

It was the driving force behind the Wentworth Art Show and, with the assistance of naming rights sponsor Sunbeam Foods and other supporters, annually stages the popular and unique Sweatbox Art Exhibition.

It also hosts at least one event each year as part of the Murray River International Music Festival, and in the past few years has staged a number of other arts endeavours including poetry readings, musical performances, films, stage productions and workshops.

Recently it joined forces with the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens to stage exhibition. This is a co-operative effort Wentworth Arts would like to see continue with exhibitions at the gardens becoming a regular event.

The group believes the gardens provide a novel, and eclectic venue for the arts... either indoors or out.

Wentworth Arts continues to work to 'bring arts to our community' and intends to keep residents up to date with its latest efforts via this website.

Wentworth Arts is: Cynthia Keenan, Meryl Hale, Anne Kiely, Jane Bazeley, Darin Taylor, Grant Maynard and West Darling Arts representative James Giddey.

New members are always welcome... and so too is input from our community.
