Wentworth Shire residents can now opt to receive rate notices by email

Wentworth Shire Council ratepayers can now register to receive future rate notices via email instead of post. Wentworth Shire has approximately 4,000 rateable assessments and 90% of these still receive hard copy rate notices, which equates to approximately  22 reams of paper per year and around approximately $13/000 in postage and handling.

Converting to electronic rate notices will not only be easier and more efficient for rate payers to receive their rate notices in a timelier manner, but will also be better for the environment and help Council save money.

General Manager Mr. Ken Ross says Wentworth Shire Council would like to increase the number of ratepayers receiving electronic notices to 50% during the 2019/20 financial year. He said that "property owners who wish to help Wentworth Shire Council become more sustainable, both environmentally and economically, can do so by visiting www.went wort h.nsw.gov.au to register their details ".

Anyone experiencing financial difficulties should contact Council as soon as possible to discuss their circumstances and make payment arrangements.
