Comments Sought on Draft Wentworth Aerodrome Master Plan

8 May 2017 3:06 PM -
Interested community members are being invited to make comment on the Draft Wentworth Aerodrome Master Plan.

Developed in consultation with community members and stakeholders, the draft Master Plan has been developed to set the strategic direction for the Wentworth Aerodrome over the next ten years (2017-2027).

The plan recognises the pivotal role the aerodrome plays for general aviation, regional tourism, emergency services, and community connection.

Discussions with stakeholders have identified a number of potential opportunities to increase the use of the aerodrome and its facilities.  These include:
  • Access to facilities by other user groups through partnerships and programs
  • Sports and recreational aviation activities and events
  • Leisure-based commercial charter operations
  • Business / Corporate / Aerial Work
  • Supporting the rural and remote emergency network
The draft Master Plan includes in its recommendations a three-phased approach for future development which includes the sealing of Runway 08/26 to Code 1B standard and in the longer term the sealing of Runway 17/35.
